Objective: To provide, promote and develop excellent, comprehensive music and education programs as a teacher, professor and/or administrator. My goal as an educator is to help my students to develop as thinking and literate musicians, with an emphasis upon analytical and creative skill development. I am always an advocate for music education and the arts. |

Previously: University of Central Florida Music Department: Full Time Faculty Instructor, Music Theory, Ear-training, Class Piano/Keyboarding, Irish Music Study abroad, Graduate Music Theory and History. Adjunct instructor: Seminole Community College, Valencia College. Theory, Eartraining. Director of Summer Music Programs, UCF Music Department. Dr Cardarelli founded this series of successful and innovative summer music camps for the community in 1998, including such offerings as: Music Drama camp, Beginning Music camps, Vocal camp, Flute camp, Saxophone camp, Orchestra camp, Band camp, Rock and Roll camp, and a study abroad program in Ireland, with a curricular focus in Irish Music and Culture. Director, Designer and Co-founder of award winning outreach string program in Orange County, A Gift for Music. This program started in 1998 with 2 schools as a part-time project of Dr Cardarelli's, and began 2003 in 12 schools with 800 students. This program has consistently attracted the attention of the media and has won numerous awards for Dr Cardarelli's concept, design and work. These awards include: Most Innovative Program (United Arts of Florida), Community Service awards (Walt Disney World), Children must Count (2004) and Dr Cardarelli herself was given the Arts Educator of the Year 2002, K-12 award (United Arts of Florida). A research study concluded in 2003 by Dr Cardarelli showed significant gains in FCAT scores for low income participants in the program. Rock and Roll camp is a fun, unique experience like no other. Camp staff, together with students, create and rehearse a concert program with newly formed bands of young middle and high-school campers, and perform a top notch Rock show on the final day. Instruments include Voice, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys.
